RMI CERTIFICATION

When a business or service has been referred to the CBB , the initial interviewing process and application will begin. Once accepted, the CBB offers a certification program for those businesses and services specializing in
customer satisfaction throughout the Colorado homeowner community.

RMI stands for REMODEL, MAINTAIN and IMPROVE.

The three most important things a homeowner will do throughout the life of his/her home and subsequent home purchases. Credible referrals are critical to being RMI certified. The application and certification process requires a business to be in good community standing and provide references from current satisfied customers. A business should have an active role in the community through organizations and association with an ongoing education regarding their specific trade.

Once certified, a business may display the Consumer Business Bureau RMI certificate in their store, on their letterhead, and in their promotions and media campaigns. This will allow consumers to know that this business has been researched and has qualified for certification which bears the mark representing a credible homebuyer/homeowner service in Colorado. Not all businesses are able to attain RMI certificates. Businesses may have an opportunity to reapply one year after the initial application was denied. Businesses which are RMI certified may at their own discretion have additional opportunities to promote themselves through Colorado Consumers homeowner’s referral guide Community House&Home, and at appropriate trade shows.

A consumers HOUSE and HOME is the biggest single purchase they will ever make. Established homeowners and first time home-buyers will need a large variety of services for their first, second, third or fourth, home–the credibility of a company will determine its success in building its reputation among both the new and established homeowner community.

From basements to rooftops, the CBB’s primary focus is to locate, certify and refer a select group of business services that will uphold a high standard of service that the Colorado home buyer, homeowner and Consumer can rely on.
